(Aug. 25, 2008) The Augustinians, a Catholic religious order of men accustomed to sustaining themselves and their members through teaching, preaching and social ministries, looked ahead to an uncertain financial future. As in many religious orders with few vocations, spiraling healthcare costs and ministries to sustain, the financial challenge was something it hadn’t anticipated.
