Building a High Performance Team to Support Major Donors

Growing and managing a successful comprehensive development program is a marathon, not a sprint. Join us for this lively, interactive presentation focused on individual and major gifts, with topics including:

  • Understanding and building leadership skills in your development team
  • Attracting donor investments to improve program excellence and effectiveness
  • Which comes first? Annual Fund, Major Gifts, or Capital Campaign
  • Minimizing development staff turnover
  • Managing expectations and setting priorities
  • Getting the best return from available resources

Learn about the essential do's and don'ts for chief development and executive officers whose primary interest is to launch, repair or expand a loyal and generous donor pool for long term success.

Case study examples will be incorporated and attendees will be engaged in participatory exercises to encourage addressing their most challenging problems.

Julie Carter and Katherine Gibney will lead a discussion to help you:

  • Identify essential team members and the leadership skills necessary for a successful major gifts program
  • The essential art of balancing great expectations and urgent priorities with competition for prospects and current donor interests
  • Hiring and keeping great major gifts staff to sustain relationships with your most important supporters
