AFP New York City Chapter: Engaging Generation Y
October 11, 20128:30 - 10:00 AM
The Conference Center, 130 East 59th Street
Acquiring new donors and engaging the millennial generation at your nonprofit—is this the one and
same activity? There is more pressure than ever before for non-profits of every type to increase and
diversify funding streams and many organizations are looking to either strengthen the engagement of
their Millennial (Gen Y) volunteer groups or to launch one for the first time. The hope is that these
individuals will be current donors as well as the donors and volunteer leaders of the future, therefore
justifying the staff time and organizational resources dedicated to supporting this type of donor and
volunteer acquisition activity.
Speakers include: Alexis Feldman, Chair, Cancer Research Institute Young Philanthropists Council; Ben
Jablonski, founder of JNFuture, the gateway for the next generation to Jewish National Fund; and Ezra S.
Shanken, Director, Emerging Leaders and Philanthropists, UJA Federation of New York. Moderated by
Greg Thomas, Campaigns Manager, DoSomething.org.
