12 pm; 1 hour conference call

Speaker: Julie Lichtenberg, Vice President of Major Gifts & Planned Giving, Beaumont Hospitals

The research shows us that we will get the largest gifts from individuals. But how do we do that? What can we do to move a prospect through the cultivation process to a successful solicitation? This presentation will concentrate on the nuts and bolts of creating effective major gift strategies.

After this sessions, participants will be able to:

1) Determine where a prospect is in the donor cycle (Qualificaiton, Cultivation, Soliciation or Stewardship)

2) Develop a baseline strategy

3) Use strategic questions as a way to understand a donor's values, interests, and interest in supporting an organization

4) Identify key people to be involved in a strategy

**Only individuals enrolled in the AFP Mentor Program may participate in this program.**
