Harnessing
Diverse Perspectives at the AFP International Conference
in Baltimore
AFP has several exciting opportunities for you to learn
from the perspectives of others and share your thoughts
on topics important to you at the 47th AFP International
Conference on Fundraising in Baltimore, April 11-14, 2010.
Meet fundraisers from all walks of life, areas of expertise
and organization type, and learn from the diversity of voices.
The first not-to-miss session is the Diversity Workshop.
Be inspired!
The second great opportunity is to gather with people who
share your experiences-whether as a fundraisers for a health-related
organization, or meet others with a shared background. Conferences
are about coming together. Don't miss this chance to share
and grow!
AFP Diversity Workshop: Making the "Ask"
Across Cultural Differences
When: Sunday, April 11, 1 - 3 p.m.
Developing and nurturing relationships across cultural
differences can be challenging. This workshop will offer
three to five skills that participants can apply for engaging
and "making the ask" across cultural differences
from a fundraising perspective. The skill building will
focus on how to notice and learn when intent and impact
are out of alignment, along with how to manage fear of making
culturally sensitive mistakes which can stop the engagement
and request.

Savvy Everyday Networking Skill: Attracting More
Donors and Developing Strong Alliances
When: Monday, April 12, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Have you ever wondered how some people possess the type
of skills that make them shine and stand out in a crowd?
They are able to walk into a room, create a presence, make
connections and connect with more donations and gifts and
build deep friendships and donor loyalty.
In the world marketplace, everyone is seen as a commodity
and very often we find ourselves trying to catch up with
our competition when it comes to fundraising. In this session,
the whole focus will be on implementing the techniques of
networking and how to connect, engage and interact within
our own community.
Join Andrea R. Nierenberg, bestselling author, business
authority, and founder and president of The Nierenberg Group
for this special one hour facilitated networking session.
Each of these sessions is offered at no extra fee
to conference registrants. To learn more and to register,
