A Profile of Heather Gee, CFRE, CAP

Heather Gee, CFRE, CAP
"The profession must address diversity because it will soon become a business blunder if it does not," says Heather Gee, vice president for development and donor relations at The Philadelphia Foundation. "The world is becoming more diverse. The communities we serve are becoming more diverse. Our donors are becoming more diverse. What used to work (white males and females being the majority of the profession) will soon no longer work simply because our communities, our constituents and our donors will not be able to relate."

Art Showcase: Sculpture by Manuelita Brown

Manuelita Brown’s Les Croisées

Bronze sculpture artist Manuelita Brown will exhibit her work at the AFP International Conference on Fundraising March 30 – April 2 as part of the Diversity Art Showcase. You can view her work and others in the conference expo hall, booth number 209.

"We need to recognize our reflections in the faces of people we meet—see the hopes and fears and aspirations we all share," said Brown. "We must not think we are separate from the people we serve. That’s what I want fundraisers to see and take with them as they look at the faces and forms of these sculptures."
