AFP Chapter Update

December 2011

The end of 2011 is upon us and as fundraisers this means it is the busiest time of the year! The foundation is bustling with AFP members making last minute gifts and pledge payments to the Every Member Campaign which means all of the Foundation Development Chairs have been busy encouraging them to do so. THANK YOU!

I would like to say thanks once again to each of you for your hard work over the past year to help make the 2011 Every Member Campaign successful. I have enjoyed working with you this year and look forward to working with your chapter’s Foundation Development Chairs next year.

The foundation office will be open December 27-30, 2011.

As always, if I can be of any assistance to you and your campaign, please contact me.
Happy Holidays!

IMPORTANT: Database Conversion Time Schedule

AFP and the AFP Foundation will be converting to a new member database in mid-January.  For the conversion, AFP must turn off all operations related to our old database, including processing contributions, beginning at 12 Noon on Friday, Jan. 6, 2012. This means that we will be pressed to process end of year gifts before our system is shut down. The projection is that the new database will be fully operational on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012 and we will resume our normal processes for the 2012 campaigns. This will be a day worthy of great celebration!

Please share this message and this year’s abbreviated gift processing schedule for pledge payments or gifts to the 2011 Every Member Campaign. You may wish to encourage members of your chapter to make their gift or pay their pledge online this year. This will ensure that their gifts are processed prior to the 2011 early deadline.

December Fundraising Status Report

As of Dec. 7, the Every Member Campaign (EMC) has raised more than $411,000 toward its goal of $475,000. The Chapter Treasury Campaign has raised almost $84,000 in commitments toward its goal of $110,000.

In the unrestricted Annual Fund, of which the EMC and Chapter Treasury Campaign are a part, we have reached 87 percent of our goal of $687,500.

IMPORTANT: Reaching Your EMC Goal

In accordance with the goal-setting policy established by the foundation’s board of directors in July 2006, reaching your chapter EMC goal is based on gifts and pledge payments received (“cash in the door”) by Dec. 31, 2011. This amount is labeled “Total Received” on the Chapter Tally Report. You can view your chapter’s status and its goal on the Chapter Tally Report through AFP Information Central (see the item below).

Accessing your Chapter Tally Report

To access your chapter’s tally report, go to AFP Information Central at http://reports.afpnet.org. After you’ve logged in using your foundation development chair (FDC) username and password, click on Chapter Tally Report on the left. Next, select the appropriate campaign year.  Our online reports provide information for campaign years 2000-2009.

NOTE: Your FDC username is NOT your AFP member. Please contact the foundation office at 1-800-666-3863 if you need your login information.

Chapter Treasury Campaign

We are in the final stretch of the Chapter Treasury Campaign. To date, almost $84,000 has been raised towards our goal of $110,000 with 127 chapters having pledged or given a gift.  We’d like to thank those chapters for their support!

The following chapters have not yet pledged or sent in a gift to the campaign. As you may know, participation in the campaign is now a requirement for a chapter to be considered for 10-Star status. If your chapter is listed below and is planning on supporting the Chapter Treasury Campaign, please let us know as soon as possible.
