GETTING TO BOSTON: AIRPORT/DOWNTOWN TRANSPORTATION

Note: The St. Patrick's Day Parade is in Boston on Sunday 3/20. Public transportation may be a little crowded!

By Car
There are three main routes into Boston:
• I-90 (Massachusetts Turnpike) from the West
• I-95 from the North and South
• I-93 from the North and South

By Subway and Bus (Local)
The MBTA offers an online trip planner that is useful for figuring out how to get here by subway, local bus, and train.

By Bus (Regional)
Nationwide bus companies including Greyhound and Peter Pan stop downtown at South Station. Several regional bus companies offer scheduled service from Boston to New Hampshire, Cape Cod, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New York City.

By Train
Amtrak has scheduled train service to Boston from New York and other points in the Northeast Corridor. The trip from New York City takes three and a half hours on Acela Express trains, and about four hours on other trains. Amtrak has three Boston stops:
• Rte. 128 is about 12 miles from downtown and is a good place to get off if you are visiting the western or southern suburbs.
• Back Bay Station is in the Back Bay, convenient to hotels in the Back Bay, South End, and the Orange Line subway.
• The third terminal is South Station, near the Financial District and on the Red Line subway. It is convenient if you are staying at the hotels along the waterfront, seaport, and the theater district.

By Air
Logan Airport is located in East Boston. Massport gives options getting to and from the airport.

At the close of each conference day, you will receive an email with a link to a daily evaluation. Please take a few minutes to evaluate the session(s) and speaker(s) that you experienced that day. If you do not receive the email containing the evaluation link, you can also find access on the conference homepage and mobile site.

DAILY EVENTS IN BOSTON FOR YOUNG PROFESSIONALS TO ATTEND

The conference will boast a number of activities for young fundraisers and the young at heart, courtesy of AFP's Next Generation Committee. For those touching down by Saturday the 19th, come meet some fellow yp's at the Atlantic Beer Garden at 6 pm. On Sunday morning, join the committee and your peers for the Affinity Roundtable discussion, where we'll discuss how to help yp's in the fundraising field. Then be sure to stop by the Young Professionals Reception at the Westin Boston Waterfront in Grand Ballroom C at 6:00 pm Sunday night.

Last but not least, the Next Generation Committee has put together a special presentation for young professionals in early to mid-career. "Should I Stay or Should I Go?" takes place Tuesday at 10:45 am and features a panel of fundraisers from various stages in their careers. They'll discuss how to make meaningful career choices and ways to avoid the pitfalls of job jumping.

JOIN BLACKBAUD'S "GOOD TAKEOVER" CHALLENGE IN MARCH!

Make your annual fund gift on March 20, 21 or 22. Blackbaud will donate $10 per donor for every donor who makes a gift to any of the three AFP foundations (United States, Canada or Mexico)—up to 500 donors or $5,000. And it counts toward your chapter's campaign goal!

WAYS TO HELP GOOD TAKEOVER
1. Text BETHECAUSE to 61416 (Mobile giving appeal provided pro bono by Innovairre Communications)
> Canadian donors text BETHECAUSE to 877-734-7361 for the Every Member Campaign

2. Go to afpfoundation.org/bethecause on March 20, 21 or 22 and click on the "Donate Now" button
> Canadian donors click on the link to the appropriate donation page

3. At the International Fundraising Conference in Boston: Stop by the AFP booth 617 to make your gift and add your donation card to Blackbaud's #GoodTakeover towers.

The foundations work together to advance the fundraising profession for the greater good through key initiatives such as diversity and inclusion, professional education and leadership development and research.
