AFP Chapter Update

July 2011

Where has the year gone? It’s the beginning of July which means vacations are under way and the first half of the year is over.

There are only 25 weeks left until the end of the calendar year, which also means the end of the 2011 Every Member Campaign is quickly approaching. How is your chapter’s Every Member Campaign doing? As of July 7, nine chapters have met or exceeded their goal – congratulations! (To find out who has achieved this accomplishment, please refer to the second item below). Remember, only gifts and pledge payments received by Dec. 31 will qualify towards your chapter meeting its EMC goal.

I would like to thank each of you for your continued hard work on the Every Member Campaign in your chapters. Without you, we wouldn’t be able to reach every member of AFP.

Accessing AFP Information Central

In order to monitor the success of your chapter’s Every Member Campaign, you can access the Chapter Tally Report at AFP Information Central. Chapter Tally Reports are available for 2000 through 2009. Your login to access the Chapter Tally Reports is different than your chapter’s login for membership and from your personal login for AFP’s website.

To access the chapter tally reports, go to AFP Information Central. Once you’ve logged in, click on Chapter Tally Report on the left. Select the appropriate year, and click Generate Report.

Should you have any questions or need to know your chapter’s login and password, please contact the foundation staff at 800-666-3863 or foundation@afpnet.org.

Chapter Tally Report UPDATE

I would like to thank all of you for your patience these last few months when we were having technological issues with the Chapter Tally Reports. We appreciate all of your efforts on the Every Member Campaign and know how frustrating it can be to not have the results of your efforts shown on the Chapter Tally Report.

For the past few weeks, the Chapter Tally Reports have been running normally. We still experience a few glitches but we are fixing them as fast as we can to provide an accurate report for you.

The one significant change in the system is our database is now updating the Chapter Tally Report in the middle of the work day versus at night after 5 p.m. This means that it is taking an additional day for gifts and pledges to show on the Chapter Tally Report. We apologize for this inconvenience.

As always, if we can be of any help with your questions on a donor or gift, please let us know.

Chapter Treasury Campaign

As of July 7, 59 chapters have pledged or given a gift to the campaign totaling nearly $45,000.

Your chapter’s gift does make a difference! Gifts to the Chapter Treasury Campaign support scholarships, such as the Chamberlain Scholarship, research, lectures and other educational programs that develop the knowledge and skills needed to advance philanthropy.

2011 EMC Calling Program

As of July 6, nearly $35,000 has been raised through 562 pledges from AFP members across the United States. The calling program will continue through the end of September. We would like to thank each of your chapters for participating in the calling program and encouraging your members to give to the 2011 EMC.

If you have any questions about the calling program, please contact Michele Drumm at mdrumm@afpnet.org or call (800) 666-3863, ext. 446.

Donor Recognition

Have you recognized your 2011 Every Member Campaign donors? The foundation offers donor ribbons and pins free of charge to recognize your chapter’s donors. To order the ribbons and pins, download the 2011 Order Supply Form here.

Question & Answer

Question: A chapter member told me they gave a gift online yesterday, why is it not showing on my Chapter Tally Report?

Answer: Online gifts are not instantly charged and processed when a donor hits the submit button. The email acknowledgement they receive is to let a donor know that we received their gift.

All online gifts are received through a secure server at AFP and then processed in the foundation office. The turnaround time for a gift once we have received it to be processed and show on your Chapter Tally Report can take 4-5 days.
