AFP 50th Anniversary (1960-2010)
2010 marks the 50th anniversary of the Association of Fundraising Professionals!
For nearly five decades, AFP has been working to advance ethical and effective fundraising and support charities around the world that provide critical services to their communities. During that time, philanthropy has made so many extraordinary contributions to the world and played a key role in improving the lives of people in every conceivable way.
AFP is proud to have played a role in the development of philanthropy and the fundraising profession. Our anniversary in 2010 provides an opportunity to not only look back on the past 50 years, but also to gaze ahead to the future and what lies ahead for fundraising and philanthropy.
Anniversary activities begin with preliminary events at the 2009 Leadership Academy, then officially kick off at the 2010 International Conference on Fundraising.
This special section of the website is information central for all of AFP’s anniversary activities. From here, members can locate anniversary activities, view videos and other anniversary materials and post their own memories and thoughts about AFP and their involvement in the fundraising community.
Thanks for being a part of the fundraising community, and we look forward to celebrating with you throughout 2010!
