We've celebrated National Philanthropy Day®, the time to remember and celebrate philanthropy, and next week is Giving Tuesday, the day to express your philanthropy and take action. Giving Tuesday is being celebrated in the U.S., Canada and around the world. Member Comments Requested on New IRS Substantiation Regulations

Canada: Nearly Four in 10 Professionals Volunteer Time Outside of Work
In a Robert Half survey, nearly four in 10 Canadian professionals said they volunteer outside of work. Respondents said their philanthropic activities help them improve their sense of well-being and effectiveness at the office (58 percent), develop new skills (48 percent) and expand their network (47 per cent). New Survey Reveals How Financial Advisors Can Better Support Their Philanthropic Clients
In a recent survey of its members, Foundation Source, which provides administrative support to family and private foundations, found that most philanthropists with small foundations do not know the best ways to give effectively and don't necessarily turn to advisers. Instead, these donors typically turned to a "philanthropic peer" or go it alone.
