Why the Second Development and Finance Symposium is for Everyone—Even YOU!
Our first Development and Finance Symposium last year, hosted by AFP and Rice University, was sold out—showing just how critical the relationship is between a development officer and a finance officer. This year, CFOs and CDOs will again be challenged to ask all of those questions they’re afraid to ask back at the office. Angela Seaworth, director at the Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership at Rice University, talks about the importance of the event, and ultimately the relationship between CFOs and CDOs.
At the Top Tier, Charity Fundraisers Earn $500,000 or More
The Chronicle of Philanthropy's recent study of fundraisers' compensation shows more than two dozen fundraisers at nonprofits earn more than $500,000, with at least two making $1-million or more. New Blackbaud Index to Track Charitable Giving in Canada
Blackbaud has recently launched The Blackbaud Index Canada, tracking charitable giving in the Canadian nonprofit sector, which represents one of the country’s biggest industries. The new index draws data from 276 organizations that raise a total of $600 million to $700 million a year, accounting for approximately seven percent of the Canadian market. (Blackbaud) Read more.
New Publication Date for Special National Report in The Globe and Mail—Changing Canada, Changing the World
Due to popular demand, the special report has been moved to a new publication date to give members more opportunity to be involved! AFP and The Globe and Mail's special supplement, to be published on June 13, will focus on Canadian philanthropic impact at home and around the world.
