Meet the AFPeeps! This Week: Peter Drury
As amply demonstrated in one of this week's top stories below, Peter Drury is no stranger when it comes to establishing clear, precise lines of communication and information to boards. That's why this director of development at Seattle-based Splash will be speaking at the AFP conference next month on the management dashboard and fundraising communications. But his biggest honor (of course!) will be proudly wearing the gold and blue AFPeeps logo as he helps man the Marketplace's AFPeeps Nest in San Diego. Peter and all the rest of the AFPeeps will be ready and available to help you with all your social networking and online communication questions - learn more about the AFPeeps here!

Getting Your Board Members to Give, Get or Get Off - Ellen Bristol
Of all the questions we get asked about board service, this one is probably the most frequent: How do I get my board members to donate money? A member of an effective board once told me he and his fellow board members run the board on what he called the "3G Philosophy - Give, Get, or Get Off!" This report explores a way to frame the conversation about your board's give-or-get policy so that you can gain consensus from all board members and come to a satisfactory conclusion.
