N.Y. Governor Proposes Executive Comp/Admin Regulations
Andrew M. Cuomo, governor of New York, recently announced the release of proposed regulations to limit spending for administrative costs and executive compensation at state-funded not-for-profit and for-profit service providers. The proposed regulations are designed to implement Executive Order 38, issued by Cuomo in January 2012 to limit excessive compensation and administrative expenses at service providers that receive state funds or state-authorized payments of federal funds. (New York Nonprofit Press) AFP plans to work with the governor and the state and educate them about the negative implications of such regulations. Read more.

Fund-Raiser Wanted But First You Have To Be an Expert in...
I once was not even remotely considered as a candidate for a fund-raising position with a hospital. Even though my fund-raising credentials were strong, and I came well recommended, I lacked one crucial aspect the hospital wanted. I did not even get an interview because the hospital's call for resumes required that anyone applying for the job have at least five years experience in the "medical sector."
