How to host the AFP CFRE Review Course
The AFP CFRE Review Course provides an overview of the development function for fundraising professionals who would like to improve their development skills, learn to raise money more efficiently or build upon their current development skills. It is designed for fundraising professionals at the five-year or above level of experience who may be preparing the CFRE Certification Exam. However, the course is also applicable to other mid-level practitioners.
The course consists of nine modules and it is recommended usually offered over a two-day period. The sponsoring organization has the option of extending classroom time for each module and/or offering the course over a period of several weeks if desired..

Module I: Why Philanthropy? An Overview of Fundraising & Its Concepts
Module II: Current & Prospective Donor Research
Module III: Marketing and Communications for Fundraising & Development
Module IV: Developing a Comprehensive Solicitation Program
Module V: B uilding and Sustaining Relationships
Module VI: Securing the Gift
Module VII: Volunteer Involvement
Module VIII: Management
Module IX: Accountability
Appendix: Supplemental materials, including test taking tips and sample test questions
The CFRE Review Course is presented through lecture, case studies, and the encouragement of participant dialogue. Faculty materials are provided to the sponsoring organization on a CD for distribution to faculty members. Printed participant manuals are ordered by the sponsoring organization for distribution to each registrant.
