More about our Speakers:
Katie Mendez, a native of Modesto, joined the Gallo Center for the Arts’ staff in 2005 and reluctantly launched her career as a fundraiser in 2007. She quickly realized that raising money isn’t as dreadful as most people think and decided that she actually enjoys it. As the director of development for the Center, she works closely with a dedicated team of volunteers and staff to raise around $2 million each year from individuals, businesses and foundations.
Amber Flores, Development Manager for the Gallo Center for the Arts, oversees the Friends of the Center annual giving program, solicits and manages corporate partnerships, manages special events and writes grants. Her previous work includes: Development Manager for the Hilberry Theater and Bonstelle Theater in Detroit, MI and the Managing Director for the Sonoma County Repertory Theater. She holds a B.A. in Theater from CSU Stanislaus and an M.F.A in Theater Management from Wayne State University.
