Rob Zinkan is Vice Chancellor for External Affairs at Indiana University East in Richmond, where he leads an advancement team focused on furthering the mission of the university and enhancing its reputation, relationships, and resources. During the past six years, IU East has doubled enrollment, and its External Affairs division has been recognized with more than 50 regional and national awards for excellence and innovation in university advancement.
Rob has been with Indiana University for 11 years - 6 at IU East and 5 at Indiana University Purdue University Columbus where he served as Assistant Dean for Advancement.
Rob holds a Bachelor of Arts from Wabash College and Master of Education from Xavier University and is a doctoral student at Creighton University. He authors the University Advancement blog at UniversityAdvancement.net and serves on the board of directors of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP)-Indiana Chapter (co-chairing the Richmond satellite group), Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Indiana, and Seton Catholic Schools.
John Oak Dalton is Director of Communications and Marketing at Indiana University East. He holds a BS in Telecommunications and an MS in Information and Communication Sciences from Ball State University. Dalton has been involved in grassroots media for many years, teaching workshops and being a judge for film festivals in Rapid City, SD; Palatine, IL; Richmond and Indianapolis and two festivals in the United Kingdom. He has served as a Media Grants Advisory Panelist for the Indiana Arts Commission.
Dalton's team has won numerous local ADDY's, regional Pride of CASE V awards, a regional Pinnacle Award, several national Educational Advertising Awards, a national Telly Award, and an international CASE Circle of Excellence Award. In 2009 iue.edu was named Noteworthy Site of the Month by eduStyle and in 2010 Dalton's team won the People's Choice Award for Best Integration of Social/Networking at the eduStyle Awards during the eduWeb Conference.
