AFP AZ, Greater Arizona Chapter: 2014 February Educational LuncheonFebruary 5, 2014
Leadership’s Role in Advancing the Mission
The economy may have begun its slow climb out of the recession, but the non-profit sector is still lagging behind philanthropic gifts at the levels prior to 2008. Organizations are struggling not only with declining dollars available from state and federal grants, but individual donations have been either flat or on a slow decline. In addition to this financial challenge, non-profits are also faced with increasing demands for their services.
The need for visionary leadership is clear. The role of your organization's leadership is key to ensuring that you can continue to carry out your mission in these challenging days. Your executive leaders and volunteer leaders must work together for the good of the organization.
Come hear Jack Davis, retired CEO of APS, Board of Directors Chair of Arizona Community Foundation and a donor - talk about his work as a leader and what it ultimately means for the community. Jack will share the importance of the board member's participation in forming and carrying out the strategic plan, supporting investment in the organization's donor relationship strategies, and as an advocate of your organization’s mission in their public roles.
