As the largest community foundation in the nation, Tulsa Community Foundation (TCF) knows that our local nonprofit agencies represent the heart of philanthropy and the front line of making our community a better place to live. Mr. Lakin will be speaking about the various programs TCF offers our area nonprofits, its impact on the Tulsa community and how donors can utilize TCF services.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Phil Lakin, Jr. has led Tulsa Community Foundation (TCF) since July 1999. He is the only person to serve as the chief executive of the foundation, which was founded in 1998. Phil works to set the strategic vision for TCF and supervises both long-term and daily goals and activities. He is passionate about his work with donors, community leaders and elected officials to improve the Tulsa area. Phil serves the City of Tulsa as the Tulsa City Councilor for District 8, comprising much of south Tulsa. He is past president of the Rotary Club of Tulsa, the 10th largest Rotary club in the world, and a graduate of Leadership Tulsa (Class 27).
Phil is a native Tulsan and graduate of Jenks High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and finance, as well as his Master of Business Administration from Baylor University. Before joining TCF, he worked for Baylor’s Office of Development, managing development efforts for northeastern Texas and six additional states.
Phil’s family includes his wife Adriane and three sons. He has l has hiked or climbed to the summits of all 54 of Colorado’s 14,000-foot mountains.
