Turning Clicks Into Cash: How to Take Your Social Media Fundraising to the Next Level

Speaker:   Barry Siegel

Nonprofit fundraising on social media is promising, but most organizations have some work to do before they’ve truly tapped the potential of each site. The goal of this workshop is to increase your knowledge of “best practice” use of LinkedIn and Facebook as a business networking and fundraising tool.

At the conclusion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Create their own “strong” profile pages on LinkedIn and Facebook
  • Invite the right people to “connect” with them on LinkedIn and “Like” their page on Facebook
  • Implement specific strategies relative to the use of both as networking and fundraising tools

Making it Last -
Maximizing the Hard Earned Gift Dollars You Help Raise

Speaker: Shawn Wamstad
Bernstein Global Wealth Management

Nonprofits of all sizes are still trying to recover from the latest economic downturn and come to grips with lower-than-expected returns for all asset classes going forward due to historically low interest rates.  Directors of Development are working hard to fill the gap with fundraising, but there is only so much they can do.  To increase their effectiveness, these Directors will have to become well-versed in explaining to donors how and why the nonprofit’s assets are spent and invested.  Nonprofits that expect to maintain sustainability (and growth) will have to learn how to make more with less and in this brief and compelling presentation we present a number of our recent findings:

  • Spending policy and asset allocation should be aligned with short-term and long-term objectives
  • Different spending formulas can improve consistency of distributions without sacrificing longevity
  • Custom analysis is important to match spending policy to unique goals and circumstances
  • Certain alternative investment solutions can help maintain the spending policy and reduce volatility

PLEASE NOTE: As previously announced, the parking fee at the Doubletree Hotel is now $5.00. If you would like to avoid paying this fee, we recommend you park in a free lot or on the street
