Making Strides With Your Support
December 13, 2011
As we head into the end of 2011 and welcome 2012, the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy – Canada would like to take this opportunity to thank all the donors who contributed during the year. We had a terrific year in both our Every Member Campaign as well as in our major gifts initiative.
As of Nov. 30, 2011, our Every Member Campaign has reached 108 percent of its goal and ten Canadian AFP chapters have exceeded their goals. Twenty-five percent of those monies raised will be used by the foundation to offer educational programs and scholarships at the local level in 2012. I would also like to thank the Canadian AFP chapters for their 100 percent participation in donating to the AFP Chapter Treasury Campaign.
Our major gift initiative raised enough to fund the Ipsos Reid Research project, which will provide important data on Canadian giving trends that will be helpful to all nonprofit organizations. The results of this research will be available in the first quarter of 2012.
In 2011 the foundation provided scholarships to the AFP International Conference and the Toronto Fundraising Day. The foundation also provided funds to AFP chapters to help administer mentoring programs and educational programs in their local geographic areas.
Thanks to the generous support of AFP members and chapters we look forward to continuing to strengthen the profession and helping fundraisers and nonprofit organizations in Canada succeed.
