March 1, 2016
Members of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) can further support AFP Foundations for Philanthropy by participating in Blackbaud’s Good Takeover fundraising challenge during the 53rd AFP International Fundraising Conference in Boston, Mass., March 20 – 22.
Blackbaud, the leading provider of software and services for the global philanthropic community and presenting sponsor of the conference, will donate $10 for every donor – up to 500 donors or $5,000 – who makes a gift to the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy, the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy - Canada or the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy - Mexico.
AFP members who are not able to attend the conference can still join Blackbaud’s Good Takeover fundraising challenge as all gifts donated to any of the three AFP foundations made during March 20 – 22 are eligible. For the first time, U.S. and Canadian members can support the foundations by texting BETHECAUSE to 61416.
“As a strategic partner of AFP, Blackbaud is proud to sponsor the Good Takeover fundraising challenge benefiting the AFP Foundations,” said Rachel Hutchisson, Blackbaud’s vice present of corporate citizenship and philanthropy, and AFP board member. “The foundations support key initiatives such as diversity and inclusion, professional education and leadership development, research, and scholarships, all designed to advance the profession of fundraising for the greater good.”
More than 4,000 fundraisers and charity leaders will convene at AFP’s International Fundraising Conference, the largest gathering of fundraisers in the world, to hear success stories, and discuss, learn, identify and share ideas, innovations, perspectives and solutions for growing charitable giving, volunteering and engagement around the world.
“Blackbaud has been a critical, strategic partner with AFP and the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy for many years, and the Good Takeover fundraising challenge demonstrates their generosity,” said John Winnett, executive vice president of the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy. “Blackbaud understands the challenges that fundraisers face—and the amazing impact we can create with our donors—and we thank them for their continued partnership both at the conference and throughout the year.”
