Maretta Emery, CA, CFRE, BA, is the director of finance and gift planning of The Winnipeg Foundation in Winnipeg.
Maretta was born and raised in Winnipeg. She received her Bachelor of Arts from The University of Manitoba and became a chartered accountant in 1977. She has worked in the nonprofit area since 1988. For 10 years she worked at Ducks Unlimited before becoming the director of finance and gift planning at The Winnipeg Foundation in 1998. She served on the AFP Manitoba Chapter Board as the resource development chair in 2001 and 2002 and was recently elected chair of the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy Canada Board. Maretta is also a member of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners, the Manitoba and Canadian Institutes of Chartered Accountants and the Estate Planning Council of Winnipeg. In her leisure time, Maretta is the ladies president at Breezy Bend Country Club and serves on the long range planning committee for the Board of Governors of that club.
