Summer 2009 Public Policy Update
The Summer 2009 Public Policy Update includes an update on proposals that would limit charitable deductions to pay for healthcare reforms and a call to action for AFP members. In addition, the update contains the latest news on the final version of the Canada Revenue Agency’s fundraising policy, National Philanthropy Day legislation, the Canada Not-For-Profit Corporations Act and AFP’s efforts to increase the provincial portion of the non-refundable tax credit in Ontario.
  
Spring 2009 Public Policy Update

AFP’s 2008 March-April Public Policy Update includes an update on the recently introduced extension of the IRA Rollover provision and the IRS' request for comments on the Form 990 redesign instructions. The update also includes a call for Canadians to contact their Members of Parliament to support a government-recognized National Philanthropy Day®; the CRA’s request for comments on proposed fundraising guidelines; the joint petition submitted by AFP and Imagine Canada regarding the CRTC telemarketing rules; and an update on the Canadian Budget.    

January/February 2008 Public Policy Update
AFP’s 2008 January-February Public Policy Update includes an update on the IRA Rollover provision, new information on the IRS’ Form 990 redesign and a summary of recent House hearings on Veterans’ Charities. The update also includes stories about the creation of a panel to support a government-recognized National Philanthropy Day in Canada before the Senate Standing Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology and the CRTC’s efforts to finalize its telemarketing rules.
