Giving USA 2015
Giving figures and other research are critical for fundraising success, and Giving USA: The Annual Report on Philanthropy is the seminal publication reporting on the sources and uses of charitable giving in the United States.
You may be wondering, how do fundraisers use Giving USA anyway? Not only can you use it to train board members and track reports about similar types of charities, but you can even use it as a resource to respond to media inquiries and do your own nonprofit benchmarking.
As the June 16 release date of Giving USA approaches, we’ll be adding more videos and other links. And after the study is release, we’ll be including a variety of resources about the data and how fundraisers and charities can use it to further their success. (And yes, we’ll be publicizing the discount code as the date gets closer too!).
For now, see our initial 2015 video below and check out the 2014 resources—much of the strategy and ideas are still relevant today!
Rachel Hutchisson, vice president for corporate citizenship at Blackbaud, and Alan Hutson, CFRE, principal with The Monument Group, both serve on AFP boards (Rachel with the association and Alan with the US foundation) and the board of The Giving Institute, which produces the annual Giving USA report. In this video, Rachel and Alan discuss what the study is, its importance and how fundraisers can use it.
