Nell Blair recently joined the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tenn. as director of development.
Lisa M. Bonney, CFRE, has recently accepted the position of director of development with Methodist's Children's Home Society located in Redford, Mich.
Judith Brauer of Gainesville, Ga. has just accepted the position of director of development with the Children's Center for Hope & Healing. She is the first person to hold the role of director of development there. Working in the past with Challenged Child and Friends in Gainesville, Ga. and with the Children's Services Council of Palm Beach County, Fla., Brauer has played a role in raising more than $4 million dollars.
Keith Carver, PhD, has been appointed as interim vice chancellor for Development and Alumni Affairs at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) in Memphis, Tenn.
Tom Conway, member of the AFP Greater Cincinnati Chapter since 1993, and veteran fundraising consultant, has relocated his business practice and residence to Wilmington, North Carolina. He transferred to the Cape Fear Chapter of AFP. He is now based in Wrightsville Beach, N.C.
Ira B. Cooperman, CFRE, is now executive director of the Jewish Community Federation of the Mohawk Valley and the Jewish Community Center in Utica, N.Y. Most recently, Cooperman was the director of philanthropy for the Masonic Care Community of New York and the chief development officer of this long-term care facility also located in Utica.
Warren M. Davis is the new director of development and external affairs at The Des Moines Art Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Davis comes to Des Moines from the Art Institute of Chicago, where he served as director of business and civic relations.
D.C. Dreger, ACFRE, has been named vice president of DAlessandro, Inc. in Punta Vedra, FL, which specializes in nonprofit fundraising and management consulting. He also is incoming chair of the AFP Publishing Advisory Committee, and as a member of the board of directors of the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy, is chair of the Chapter Treasury annual fundraising campaign.
Patricia Eldred, MA, CFRE, member of the AFP Publications Committee and Greater Madison Wisconsin chapter Board of Directors is now an independent consultant specializing in fund development and communications. Patricia has more than 18 years of experience successfully competing for funds through annual and capital campaigns, foundation, corporate and individual giving, grant writing, media and public relations.
Jay Frey, CFRE, was appointed vice president for development at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation. For the past 18 years Jay has lived and worked in Chicago. He is a past president of AFP Chicago and he served on the AFP Board of Directors and as vice chair of membership services from 2005 to 2007.
Carol Horvitz was formerly chief development officer at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California. She is now the executive director of The Children's Burn Foundation in Sherman Oaks, California.
Donna Kassens is now senior development officer for Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois. Her focus will be major gifts and planned giving. Formerly she was a director of development at Resurrection Development Foundation.
Susan Ulrich McLaughlin, CFRE, is now principal consultant, Healthcare & Human Services - Professional Services, Enterprise Customer Business Unit at Blackbaud, Inc. in Charleston, South Carolina. She was formerly consultant - Professional Services at Blackbaud.
Andrew Olsen, CFRE, recently left his position as senior annual giving officer at Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare in St. Paul, Minn., to become account director at Russ Reid, a marketing and communications firm exclusively serving nonprofits.
Norman Olshansky has been named the new president and chief executive officer of the Van Wezel Foundation in Sarasota, Fla.
Tamara W. Zavislan has been named executive director of Community Foundation of Harford County in Bel Air, Md. She was formerly director of development at Ignatian Volunteer Corps, Baltimore Md.
