Jill Battalen is now associate director of development at Disability Rights Advocates in Berkeley, Calif. She previously served as director of individual giving at the National Women's Health Network in Washington, D.C.

Lori R. Bullen is now development program manager at Crozer-Chester Foundation and Delco Memorial Foundation in Drexel Hill, Pa. She was formerly director of alumni relations at Woodlynde School in Havertown, Pa.

Attorney and civic leader Donald W. Buttrey, artist and business and community leader Marianne Glick, and international corporate and nonprofit executive Jerre L. Stead have been elected to the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University’s Board of Visitors.

Gregg Carlson, president of the fundraising division of Harris Connect LLC in  will be establishing an independent firm, Carlson Fund Raising, LLC, and will be the firm’s president.

Michelle Covington has been named development officer at Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, Calif. She formerly worked in college recruiting and human resources at Hewlett-Packard and Agilent Technologies.

Justine Craig-Meyer is now vice president of development at Humanitri in St. Louis, Mo. She previously served as executive director for Lemay Housing Partnership in St. Louis.

Tara A. Ellis has been appointed chief executive officer of Meals on Wheels for Western New York. Ellis currently is an independent consultant.

Bert Epting has been selected to serve as vice president for advancement at Shorter University in Rome, Ga. Epting comes to Shorter from Clemson University, where he has served as director of development for the Division of Student Affairs.

Eric P. Gustafson has been named the executive director of development and alumni relations at Framingham State University in Framingham, Mass. Gustafson comes to Framingham State from Anna Maria College in Paxton, Mass., where he had been serving as the director of advancement since 2008.

Michael Infurnari has been appointed Director of Development for the WateReuse Research Foundation, based in Alexandria, Va. Infurnari previously served at the Institute for Health Technology Studies, the research and education foundation of the Advanced Medical Technology Association in Washington, DC. 

Chad J. Jolly, Ph.D., is now a consultant at Gonser Gerber Tinker Stuhr LLP in Naperville, Ill. Most recently, he served as vice president for institutional advancement for William Jewell College in Missouri.

Nicholas Katona has been appointed vice president of development at After School Matters in Chicago, Ill. Katona previously served as the organization’s director of development.

Natalie R. Krauser McCarthy has joined the Somerset Valley Y Association in Somerville, N.J. as its development director. She was previously with The Arc of Union County as development and special events manager.

Berinthia R. LeVine has been named vice president, university advancement, at Cleveland State University and executive director, CSU Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. LeVine was formerly vice president, executive office at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland.

Jana Olslund has been named vice president of development at Hazelden in Center City, Minn. Olslund most recently served as vice president and chief development officer for Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota.

Allison Porter has been named president of Avalon Consulting Group in Washington, D.C. She is co-founder and was formerly executive vice president of the agency.

Shari Lynn Scales, CFRE, has been named director of development for the Providence Cancer Center in Portland, Ore. She previously served as development officer for Concordia University in Portland.

Michelle L. Smith, CFRE, MPA, has been named senior grant writer for The Health Trust, a charitable foundation based in Campbell, California. She was previously the director of grants management at Family & Children Services, with offices in Palo Alto and San Jose, California.

Kristina Starkey is now director of development at Mercy St. Vincent Foundation in Toledo, Ohio. She was formerly director of alumni and grandparent relations at Francis Parker School in San Diego.

Joanne Taylor of Boise, Idaho, was recently promoted to marketing and development manager at Children’s Home Society of Idaho. Taylor has previously served as grant writer and most recently development manager at the organization.

Sarah Williams, CNP, has been named co-executive director at Hannah’s Treasure Chest in Centerville, Ohio. She was formerly associate executive director at Dayton Christian Center in Dayton, Ohio.

Robin Zanotti, ACFRE, is now director of development at West Virginia University Hospitals-East in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
