AFP Canada Board of Directors 2017 Nominations
January 31, 2017
The Nomination period for submissions to serve on the first AFP Canada Board of Directors are now closed.
The AFP Canada New Horizons Transition Task Force has been working for the past two years to implement this new governance structure for AFP. The AFP Canadian Council will end their work on December 31, 2016. We thank them for their work to insure that Canadian member needs were identified and met through a strategic planning process, chapter collaboration and communications opportunities. AFP Canada will be incorporated as a formal entity in early 2017, and with that formal incorporation, an AFP Canada Board of Directors will be constituted.
The initial Board commitment will be a one-year term through December 31, 2017. A second nominations process will take place during the summer for Board seats in 2018. The 2017 Board will be responsible for:
- Adopting the Affiliation Agreement with AFP;
- Developing and adopting the first set of bylaws for AFP Canada;
- Perform a skills mapping exercise to determine staffing needs; and
- Insuring Canadian member and chapters needs are met through strategic planning
The Board will consist of twelve members across Canada.
The Committee on Directorship will be chaired by Nicholas Offord, chair of the AFP Canada New Horizons Transition Task Force. Other Committee on Directorship members include: Marnie Spears, Luce Moreau, CFRE, Vivian Ann Smith, CFRE, and Karen Mercier, CFRE.
