Member Motion/Accolades: August 2008
(Aug. 25, 2008) AFP members are always accepting new challenges and exciting career opportunities, as well as receiving accolades for their commitment and service. Here are some job announcements, appointments, promotions and recognitions for August 2008.
Stacey Vanden Heuvel was recently promoted to the role of vice president of marketing and philanthropy for Olmsted Medical Cente, in Rochester, Minn. She serves additionally as executive director of OMC Regional Foundation supporting Olmsted Medical Center. She previously served as foundation director for OMC Regional Foundation.
Martin Leifeld has been appointed to the post of vice chancellor for university advancement at the University of Missouri-St. Louis in St. Louis. Leifeld currently serves as associate vice president for university development at St. Louis University.
Blythe Cotton Maling was recently appointed partner of QuantumMethod in Glendale, Calif. Prior to joining QuantumMethod, Maling served as a consultant for a number of nonprofits in the Los Angeles area, including serving 11 years as vice president, development and marketing at Para Los Niños in Los Angeles.
Peggy McCue Rhoads is now regional director of development for the American Cancer Society-Gulf Coast Region in Houston, Texas. She previously served as vice president of development for Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston in Houston.
Michelle M. Patterson, MPA, is now the individual giving officer at Casa Central in Chicago, Ill. She was formerly the development specialist at the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago.
Becky Wainwright has been named director of development for the CCO in Philadelphia, Pa. She formerly served as associate director of development for the CCO.
Susan Green of Charlotte, N.C., successfully managed the North Carolina 9th District Democratic congressional campaign to a 60 percent margin of victory. Mecklenburg, Union and Gaston counties comprise the district.
Jaye M. Lopez has been named development director for the University of the District of Columbia – David A. Clarke School of Law in Washington, D.C. Lopez formerly served as associate director for membership and events at the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy in Washington, D.C.
Sally Lawrence has recently assumed the role of executive director of the Orange County branch of the Arthritis Foundation’s southern California chapter in Fountain Valley, Calif. She previously served as executive director for the Orange County Division of the March of Dimes, California chapter.
Diane Tracy is now a major gifts officer at Cranbrook Educational Community in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. She previously served as a regional director of development for the College of Literature, Science and the Arts at the University of Michigan.
Lauren M. Postler, LMSW, has recently accepted the position of executive director with the St. Anne School Foundation in Houston, Texas. She previously served as the projects manager for Spindletop Charities, Inc. in Houston.
