Globe and Mail Releases Future of Philanthropy Supplement
(June 30, 2008) The Globe and Mail released its third AFP-supported supplement focusing on Canadian philanthropy and fundraising on Wednesday, June 26.
"The Future of Philanthropy" examines a wide range of issues related to charitable giving and volunteering in Canada and features a column AFP President and CEO Paulette V. Maehara, CFRE, CAE, about fundraising costs. The supplement also features articles about donor demographics, financial giving plans and the impact of different types of charities on Canadians across the country.
“One of AFP’s key goals in its 2007-2010 Strategic Plan is to build public awareness of the importance of philanthropy and educate people about what fundraisers really do,” said Andrea McManus, president of The Development Group in Calgary, Alberta, and vice chair of professional advancement for AFP. “Our work with The Globe and Mail is a critical way we reach out the public.”
McManus thanked Tania Little, CFRE, for her great work in helping to develop the supplement with The Globe and Mail.
