Improve the Form 990: Take the Questionnaire and Help AFP Advise the IRS
January 13, 2015
You’ve been using the redesigned Form 990 since 2008. Now tell the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) how it can improve the document to make it more effective and easier to use.
One of AFP’s key long-term goals is to ensure the fundraising profession has a seat at the table when public policy changes are being discussed and implemented. To that end, AFP President and CEO Andrew Watt, FInstF, serves on the Exempt Organizations Subcommittee of the IRS Advisory Committee on Tax Exempt and Government Entities (ACT). The ACT is a group of representatives of the nonprofit sector and practitioners who provide public input to the IRS on relevant areas of tax administration.
The Subcommittee’s current project focuses on improving and enhancing the effectiveness of the redesigned Form 990. All U.S. AFP members have the opportunity to participate in the project by completing a brief questionnaire. By completing the questionnaire below, you will:
- provide meaningful input for the ACT's current project on improvements to the Form 990, which will be presented to the IRS Commissioner at a public meeting in June 2015 and published on the IRS website; and
- have the opportunity to be sent access to the published report.
Your participation in the questionnaire is confidential. Responses will be aggregated and comments will not be attributed to any individual responder.
AFP appreciates your willingness to consider this request and anticipate that it will not take more than 5 to 10 minutes of your time. Please click the link below to access the Form 990 questionnaire.
