February 4, 2014
The AFP Foundation for Philanthropy—Canada and Mackenzie Investments are teaming up to offer Canadian nonprofit professionals, who work on behalf of registered Canadian charitable and nonprofit organizations, an opportunity to further develop their knowledge and skills in fundraising.
Financial scholarships, up to a maximum of $1000, are being offered to cover registration and travel costs for educational programs at the local, national and/or international level. “The fundraising profession is an integral part of Canada’s philanthropic sector,” said Brad Offman of Mackenzie Investments. “By enabling fundraising professionals to build their professional capacity, our hope is to grow the overall size of the charitable pie in Canada. Fundraisers are a key link between donors and their philanthropic dreams.”
Educational programs that can be funded through the National Scholarship Program include, but are not limited to:
- AFP CFRE Review Course
- AFP Chapter Fundraising Workshops & Conferences
- AFP Fundamentals of Fundraising Course
- AFP International Conference on Fundraising
