AFP members are always accepting new challenges and exciting career opportunities, as well as receiving accolades for their commitment and service. Here are some job announcements, appointments, promotions and recognitions for Spring 2013.
James Kimbrough is now executive director at the Washington Regional Foundation in Fayetteville, Ark. Kimbrough joined the staff of the Washington Regional Foundation in 2004 and has served as the organization’s director of development for several years.
Patricia Venti is the new director of advancement at Hildene, The Lincoln Family Home in Manchester, Vt. She previously served as the director of development for the Southwestern Vermont Health Care in Bennington, Vt.
Glenna Parris has joined the staff of Helping People Success as its resource development director in Stuart, Fla. She was previously the director of foundation development at Treasure Coast Hospice in Fort Pierce, Fla.
Carolyn Rogers, CFRE, has been named vice president of development and communications of the Southwest Florida Community Foundation in Fort Myers, Fla. She was most recently the owner of SimplifyPR, a local public relations and marketing firm in Fort Myers, Fla.
G. Gary Deverman, CFRE has joined The American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM) as its chief development officer in Chevy Chase, Md. He was formerly the chief operating officer of the Children’s National Medical Center Foundation in Washington, D.C.
Jack Downey recently assumed the position of President/CEO for the San Antonio Symphony in San Antonio, Texas. The retired Air Force officer most recently ran his own nonprofit consulting firm, Downey Associates, with his wife Mary Downey in San Antonio, Texas.
Allen Peckham has been named senior vice president of Development Guild/DDI in Brookline, Mass. He previously served as chief development officer for Partners HealthCare for nearly 16 years, in Boston, Mass.
Kaye Englin has been named president and CEO of The Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa in Waterloo. She most recently served as vice president of advancement, church relations and advocacy for Lutheran Services in Iowa (LSI) in Des Moines, Iowa.
Cynthia Louis was appointed development director at Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland in Elizabethtown. Louis previously spent nearly three years with AmeriCorps Volunteers In Service to America, one of which was spent at the USA Cares office in Radcliff, Ky.
Lynn King is the new operations coordinator at Friends of the Greenville Zoo in S.C. She brings years of experience working in the nonprofit arena including management and community outreach at Healthy Smiles of Spartanburg and Regenesis Health Care.
Rodney Grabowski, CFRE has been appointed president of the University of Cincinnati Foundation and vice president for development and alumni relations in Ohio. He previously served as the senior associate vice president for university advancement and campaign director at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Fla.
