AFP International Nominations to serve on the Committee on Directorship
August 13, 2015
You or another leader you know can have an even greater impact on AFP by serving on the AFP Committee on Directorship (COD).
At the President’s Council meeting in October, you and your peers will nominate representatives and alternates for your Districts to serve on the Committee on Directorship. Five (5) Districts (B, G, H, I, and L) will elect representatives…all twelve Districts will elect alternates who serve when representatives are unable to fulfill their duties.
The role of the COD is crucial. As a member, you are responsible for determining the future of AFP by electing officers and directors for the AFP board. It’s important work, but fun too, and a great way to engage with members from across the globe, represent your chapter internationally, and put your AFP leadership experience to work.
If you are interested in being considered for a position on the Committee on Directorship to serve in 2016, or if you would like to nominate someone for the position, we ask that you first review the job description and criteria. Then complete a Nomination Form and send to Rebecca Knight or by fax to: 703-836-5624, by Wednesday, October 16, 2015. This process requires that all nominations are made in advance and in writing.
Only Presidents OR Presidents-Elect representing the Chapter President may vote at the October meeting. If neither the President nor the President-Elect is able to attend, the Chapter President may assign his/her proxy to a Chapter President of another chapter within the same District. A Chapter President may only carry one proxy. The nomination and proxy forms are also attached in this email.
If you have any questions about the COD nomination process, please don’t hesitate to contact Rebecca Knight in the President’s office at 703-519-8444.
