Chapter Boards Lead by Example in Achieving 100 Percent Chapter Board Participation
December 9, 2015
The AFP Foundation for Philanthropy and AFP Foundation for Philanthropy – Canada congratulate and thank those chapters that were among the first to LEAD BY EXAMPLE in achieving 100 percent participation among their board members in the 2015 BE the CAUSE Campaign.
Congratulations to the 118 U.S. and Canadian chapters that have achieved 100% Board Participation as of November 30, 2015. This number represents a 33 percent increase (!) from last year, when 89 chapters achieved 100 percent board participation. A total of 102 chapters are participating from the United States, with 16 more from Canada. Chapters that have not yet completed the form notifying the Foundation of this milestone should submit it before December 31, 2015. Keep up the great work!
Chapter Impact Campaign
This year 81 chapters have donated a total of $49,773 to the Chapter IMPACT Campaign. The breakdown of the chapter-directed allocations is 55 percent to capacity building, 34 percent to diversity scholarships, and 11 percent to professional education and leadership development.
If your chapter is applying for the 2015 Ten Star/Ten Star Gold application, a gift from your chapter to the Chapter IMPACT Campaign is a required goal. Learn more about the 2015 Chapter IMPACT Campaign today!
Many chapters wait until after their NPD events to make a gift to the Chapter IMPACT Campaign. If you have not yet made a decision or discussed the Chapter IMPACT Campaign with your board members, please do so today and download the brochure and pledge form!
Thank you to those chapters that have already contributed to the 2015 Chapter IMPACT Campaign. It’s only through the generosity of your time and commitment that we are able to accomplish so much for the fundraising profession.
P.S. As you go through the 2016 budgeting process, please be sure to include your Chapter IMPACT gift for next year.
2015 Year-End Donor Deadline
During the month of December, we encourage chapter leaders to make personal contacts with members who have open pledges and thank them for their support. Please reinforce how important their gifts are to your chapter.
As a reminder, gifts and pledge payments must be postmarked by December 31, 2015 to count towards your chapter’s 2015 goals. We ask that you review your chapter tally reports and contact Melissa Gusdorf, development associate, at (703) 519-8470 if you have any questions or concerns.
