AFP 50th Anniversary (1960-2010)
2010 marked the 50th anniversary of the Association of Fundraising Professionals!
For five decades, AFP has been working to advance ethical and effective fundraising and support charities around the world that provide critical services to their communities. During that time, philanthropy has made so many extraordinary contributions to the world and played a key role in improving the lives of people in every conceivable way.
AFP is proud to have played a role in the development of philanthropy and the fundraising profession. Our anniversary in 2010 provided an opportunity to not only look back on the past 50 years, but also to gaze ahead to the future and what lies ahead for fundraising and philanthropy.
Anniversary activities began with preliminary events at the 2009 Leadership Academy, then officially kicked off at the 2010 International Conference on Fundraising.
This special section of the website preserves all of AFP’s anniversary activities. Thank you for being a part of the fundraising community, and we look forward to celebrating with you in the future!
