Michael Slaymaker, NYC & Orange County Chapters Receive Marion, Stephens Awards

Mississippi Chapter Wins Charles R. Stephens Diversity Award

University of Toledo Fundraiser Vern Snyder Named 2016 Outstanding Fundraising Professional

Stanford University Student Earns International Youth Philanthropy Award
(Oct. 21, 2015) Kinsey Morrison, an 18-year old college student who was diagnosed with aplastic anemia at a young age and has now raised more than $600,000 for a variety of charitable causes, has been named the 2015 Bob Carter Companies Outstanding Youth Philanthropist by AFP.

Virginia Donor-Volunteer Power Couple Named 2015 Outstanding Philanthropists
(Oct. 14, 2015) Macon and Joan Brock, a Virginia Beach couple who has given more than $45 million to a variety of charitable causes, have has been named the 2015 Outstanding Philanthropists by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).

San Diego Community Leader Peter Ferrantelli Named North America’s Top Volunteer Fundraiser
(Sept. 3, 2015) Peter Ferrantelli, who has spent 45 years volunteering and raising money for charitable causes in the San Diego area, has been named the 2015 Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).

Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation Earns AFP’s Outstanding Foundation Honor
(August 26, 2015) The Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation in Winter Park, Fla., has been selected to receive the 2015 Award for Outstanding Foundation by AFP. The foundation will receive its award at the 2015 National Philanthropy Day Honors event on Nov. 12in New York City.

AFP Announces Top Giving and Volunteering Awards: The 2015 National Philanthropy Day Honors
(August 6, 2015) The Association of Fundraising Professionals has announced the recipients of its 2015 National Philanthropy Day Honors, including a powerhouse philanthropic couple from Virginia Beach, Va., a world-famous beverage corporation headquartered in Atlanta, Ga., and a youth group from Pratt, Kan.  The honorees will be recognized formally in November in New York City as part of AFP’s global celebration of National Philanthropy Day.

College Park Maryland Professor Receives AFP/Skystone Partners Research Prize
The AFP/Skystone Partners Prize for Research has been awarded to Dr. Noah Drezner, assistant professor of higher education at the University of Maryland, College Park, for his outstanding work on identity-based donors, Expanding the Donor Base in Higher Education: Engaging Non-Traditional Donors, published by Routledge.

Georgia Brother and Sister Honored with International Youth Philanthropy Award
(Mar. 14, 2013) Carter and Olivia Ries, brother and sister from Fayetteville, Georgia, who have created plastic recycling programs being used in schools across the U.S. and are committed to conservation and endangered species efforts, are the recipients of the 2013 Bob Carter Companies/William R. Simms Award for Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy, Group, presented by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). 

Bob Carter Companies to Sponsor Youth in Philanthropy Awards
AFP thanks the Bob Carter Companies for their support and sponsorship of the 2013 William R. Simms Awards for Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy. Two awards, an Individual and a Youth Group Award, will be presented at The Celebration of Philanthropy at AFP's International Conference on Fundraising, April 6, 2013, in San Diego. Mark Climie-Elliott: Born to Be a Fundraiser
(Oct. 30, 2012) Mark Climie-Elliott, CFRE was born to be a fundraiser. After all, he was born on Nov. 15, National Philanthropy Day. But the long-time fundraiser and this year’s recipient of the Barbara Marion Award for Outstanding Leadership to AFP credits his success to his family, his experience with AFP and the incredible colleagues he’s met throughout this career.
